Blounge Posted September 12, 2024 Report Posted September 12, 2024 Nova beat Youngstown State and Colgate pretty good How we feeling going into #5 ranked Villanova? Confident cause we are road warriors? Scared cause of a lackluster Morgan state performance? Gonna need to limit penalties and turnovers! If Nova runs thru us... Could Villanova beat UMD? Maryland lost to Michigan State last week! Quote

Maryland lost to Michigan State last week! I am not confident, but we did seem to play our best last year when expectations were at their lowest last year. It has been a similar trend in just two games this year in a micro sense, and in a different way. I do feel like our offense has at least moved the ball decently (when not shooting ourselves in the foot with playcalling, penalties or turnovers) in these first two games, which gives me a small sense of optimism (very small). I won't worry about Maryland-Villanova until we are done with the Wildcats. I am hoping this performance can be encouraging enough to make me motivated to drive to Fargo and back next week from the Twin Cities. After flying in for the game they played at Towson, I don't have much motivation to see the sequel. One game at a time though. Let make this one a good one. Quote
Bay Area Tiger Posted September 12, 2024 Report Posted September 12, 2024 We beat Villanova this week. Kent plays the best game of his career. 1 1 Quote

Anyone who’s been a game on the main line knows it’s more like a high school crowd than college. Lounge if you think four tailgating is strict… 1 Quote

mat1992 Posted September 13, 2024 Report Posted September 13, 2024 Carlos Davis (shldr) should play in this one, but worried about him getting hit. Kent played poorly in last year's game and I think Davis with Dunmore (get him the ball more) and Doss gives us a much better chance since they didn't play in that game. Watkins had a 75-yard TD run in that game and I think he needs to get the ball more in space. Worried about the left tackle spot if Dan Volpe doesn't play and it appears Abraham Giwa (Marist), a sub at left tackle and guard, is out for a bit. That could mean Jaelin Montgomery at left tackle. Hopefully defense is more solid up front, but still worried about mistakes in the secondary that isn't quite there yet. This is one of those early big tests that if you lose by a few, it means we're better and will have to beat teams like W&M and Richmond to have a postseason shot. A win would give this program a big jolt as it did back in 2018 when we beat them 45-35 and snuck into the playoffs. Back then Tom Flacco was on target and the Shanes (Simpson/Leatherbury) were healthy. 1 Quote
