A surge of 2-4 feet will also be experienced in Chesapeake Bay.

(3/3) Stay alert, monitor trusted local forecasts, have several ways of receiving emergency alerts, + make sure your electronic devices are charged. Avoid going out during the storm if possible and please use common sense. Visit weather.gov/lwx for more information. #MdReady

Gonna be some gnarly waves in Ocean City then the tropical cyclone is headed for Johnny Unitas stadium

Actually, the ‘11-‘13 campaigns saw 5k in student attendance.  Sure, they may have left at halftime, but it was a great atmosphere. Tailgating means everything to college football and the general student population.  Winning is  not as big a factor as you may believe. Nobody cares about Towson vs Norfolk or Bryant or Monmouth.  The average student would have some interest in a game against ‘Nova, JMU, Richmond, W&M, ODU and Delaware.  The current CAA not a sustainable model.

Agreed the student body is like 25% girls from NY/NJ. You think they care we are playing Norfolk State? They are there for the party and to be fair lots of the guys are at the tailgate party to fraternize with the beautiful women, not cause it’s an intriguing matchup of fcs football.

They gotta accommodate the people that want to party. Let them eat cake. And by cake i mean natty light in the parking lot next to a DJ

  3. Towson really has two demographics the degenerate students and the old geysers in the surrounding area. They should accommodate both.

A $25 all you can drink ticket PLL style for the students to vibe on the track

As for the old folks, they should put a special promotion at the locally famous landmark, The Peppermill Restaurant. Combo deal get brunch and a ticket to the game.

I wonder why Towson frowned upon this.

They should have encouraged it! This was the only time as (Brad pointed out) that people were excited to get out to Unitas EVER

towson should have doubled down on athletics around 2013 when T-west and Bennimon were giving us the best years of our lives.

the new union and campus improvements are beautiful, enrollment is up to the highest level ever, Wall Street Journal voted us the #1 university in Maryland, but somehow we can’t get any folks to care about the football game

  5. Back in my day this is what a towson tailgate looked like. You and your new 18 year old freshman buddies would show up to the parking lot with whatever beer/liquor you had and a DJ was there providing the beats to jump up and down too. That was all we needed to have fun and look there were hundreds of us there having a great time! Too bad this was deemed so unacceptable we can’t allow this type of fun anymore

Well that was on the students being dumb. More leave before the game starts anyway.

another crowd of 3,000 or less upcoming this weekend

It was one girl being dumb who tried to do a back flip off a pick up truck and hit her head on the pavement. The ambulance came and it was a whole big scene over one isolated incident!

oh yeah there was also sigma chi throwing full beer cans at the Greek director for kicking them off campus

Something needs to be done. Family of 4 would cost 160 to just get in the gates.  For Towson football that’s WAY too much

I remember being sad 10 years ago to hear $15 a ticket to buy my parents two tickets to the game when i was a student. Anything over $15 nowadays is too much for the product we put on the field and the lack of demand for tickets.

i also remember being sad when they banned tailgating. Imagine how many fans we would have now if they didn’t pull that boneheaded move!  The students literally boycotted going to the game to protest the tailgate ban.

They gotta figure something out, do I need to cold call every towson alum to get them fired up for the Pete shinnick era?

I was eating there from 1991-1993..  I loved the food and choices they had.
more importantly the staff was always super friendly.

Oh yeah miss Debbie (I think that’s her name) was always a sweetheart. Like an IHOP/Waffle House waitress asking “how you babies doin?”
