The whole line of thought that playing the redshirt freshman now is a reason to think they will be better later is bunk.  The only reason we are playing redshirt and true freshman is because of the obvious fact that our coaches cannot recruit, or develop talent.  If your who roster comes down to a handful of people getting hurt, well then you don't have much of a program.

Let's do the math. Simpson hurt=Platt/Young have replaced them. So sure, they should have Wethington or somebody like him instead of C.J. Williams behind him.

Mahalak hurt; Knudson moved to Hback. Stover now QB.

DT Harps-Upshur out for the year-Reece Burnett (not a freshman) replacing him.

CB/S Lyrics Klugh injured today (don't know extent)-R-freshman Jamal Watson replaces him. True freshman Vashon McCants also saw time because JPD is not 100%.

Boles struggling at safety so true freshman Coby Tippett now sharing time.

All the other freshmen/r-freshmen are playing due to depth issues. Or the fact that the upperclassmen underachieved.

Not making a statement or an excuse. That's just where we are. But when you look at juco transfers Boles, D'Mitri Francis and Zane Ventemiglia. We had to go the juco route because of issues with recruiting and none of those guys have really impressed. Francis has only played on special teams and Boles, well, he's struggled. Zane V. has been the best of the three and was replaced today by Grzymkowsi, who of course, is a redshirt freshman.
