MLax faces No. 18 Richmond on Saturday

Recommended Posts

Bad loss after going up 9-5. Sure, the face-offs hurt after getting the lead, but the defense and poor clears crushed us. SSMids are having problems and they really struggled on the left side defensive near the crease. That last possession was rough as Brody Mac looked for Swain near the crease but low pass and low percentage one. They had time. You have to at least get a shot off there.

Good news that it's meaningless overall. It's all about the CAA. Have to tighten things up on D. Martin looked good at times and rough at times on F/O. Winning just 4 of 12, Santora won 7 of 13. I guess he'll get the start next time and Martin is much bigger change of pace guy. At least had 14 turnovers instead of 26 and forced 20. Brennan not quite as good as last time with just five saves, but I don't think any of the 11 goals were on him.

Don't get not playing the big freshman midfield. Though Austin Stewart was great today with 1g and 3ass. Swain with three assists. Milani 3 goals, Avanzato 2g, Brody 2g. Mo Silah had a great game with 3 goals and 2 caused turnovers. Seems like we're still kind of in preseason form. Getting better in some facets. Need improvement in others.

A game of streaks. We rattled off seven straight goals to go up 9-5, then gave up six straight to fall behind 11-9. Seems like UR exploited that left-side weakness on everyone of them.

Think they are set with Mo Sillah at the pole, GZ and Koby but not sure about that third close defenseman. Also, they can't seem to find consistent short stick middies. Personally, I'd go with Ticehurst at the pole and Mo as the third close defender, but not sure they want to take Mo off the wings of the face-offs. The middies are improving, but I don't giving up on the huge freshman line. Even if you want to play just one. Wonder if Greg Ey got hurt, because he was out after the first quarter. Think Stewart and Swain are fine on the first unit with Wasserman.
