2023-24 Transfer Thread

Recommended Posts

Maybe Kelsey had the right idea of finding the best D2/NAIA players that fit for his program, especially Ante Brzovic. But it's an arms race even at this level. I'm sure he's getting NIL money to stay in school one more year (maybe 2). Their collective is working. Hopefully ours will shortly.

A program like ours, which only has a fledgling collective (not sure how robust it will ever be, compared to C of C, but that’s another story) would perhaps be better served scouring D2, NAIA and/or JUCO, when it comes to transfers.

As best I can tell, the portal closes on May 11th, which is slightly less than 3 weeks from now. If the line were 50, who would take the over, in terms of how many guys we’ve reached out to so far?

From April 17-21 this week.   49 players entered the portal.  The National Championship game was April 3rd mind you.  I would think it would all settle down now but who knows anymore.

The genie is out of the bottle, and I don’t know if there’s any way of putting it back in. You would think by this point someone would know whether they want to transfer. My guess is that with guys committing to new schools, that it’s resulting in a domino effect, where guy’s already on  the team are seeing the writing on the wall (that they’re going to lose minutes to incoming portal guys) and are bolting

Last few days, Harvey goes back to Tenn Tech, Chaplin to Little Rock and Briggs McClain goes to Manhattan. There are still some wings left. Certainly Chaplin was the more athletic wing we needed, but struggled from 3pt. range. Harvey was an outstanding 3-point shooter last season, but maybe not a great slasher.
