Semi - agree (for once ?) love to have that semi-automatic goto guy (usually a grd at mid major) …for tournament-time.   But; if you tell me Tark, May, and Dwill keep progressing (front court aside , which I love ) ….. LFG; who should we be scared of ?  Make / miss tournament/ league / game - but I KNOW 💯 we will defend and rebound .   We getting sneaky good!  Even you gotta (albeit half) smile !     Now FUKK NORTHEASTERN

Hell freezing over. Guard play is important. Tarke and Williamson are much better, and thus we are better, when they drive. I, and hopefully everyone else, don’t want to see tarke shoot flat footed threes for 25 feet with 18 left on the shot clock. Williamson has actually shot better than his numbers indicate since he’s had atleast 15-20 threes that were heaves with the shot clock winding down.

Maybe it’s because our rims are uneven?!  I joke, sort of.
it is random-ish. We hedge and over rotate a lot. That can lead to some open threes. This is a stat I would expect to get closer to average as play goes on

It is a very random stat, but although I don't love our switching defense at times it really feels like we have good depth and personnel for it this year. Last year's team seemed like a bad fit for it. I agree it will even out a little, but I still think it can be a strength. We will find out this week because Bill Coen often figures out ways to match up well against our defense and they had one of the most efficient offensive games anyone has had against us earlier this year. Hofstra also tore our defense apart in the second half at their place last year.

Last nights games were wild. 3-8 will likely end with very similar records so H2H Tiebreakers are going to be important.
Looking at some schedules, Monmouth could very well take a top 4 seed

I'm trying my best to not be a "prisoner of the moment".  In the week or so prior to the Hofstra game, we looked like world-beaters playing some of our best basketball of the season.  Lots of reasons for excitement and optimism for the last few weeks of the season.

And then Hofstra happened.  At Hofstra we were flat and looked uninspired missing several chip-shot baskets and made some frustrating mistakes.  It was THIS version of the Towson Tigers that has been showing up to the CAA Tournament the last several years.  There needs to be a heightened sense of self-awareness among the team that they are capable of beating EVERYONE in the CAA and that they are seemingly capable of losing to EVERYONE in the CAA when they're not playing optimally.

Every year that we've been bounced from the CAA Tourney most of us lament the fact that Towson teams have lacked a *KILLER INSTINCT*.  Let's hope that someone on this team, with the help of Patrick Skerry, recognizes the need for someone/anyone, to step up and put their foot on the gas the rest of the way through so we're not limping into the tourney.

Some of these analytics are not always the best as it relates to actual knowledge or information about the conference, but they are interesting reference points:

Regular-season title odds - https://barttorvik.com/conodds.php?conf=CAA
Player of the Year odds (again I have no idea what data set they use for this - https://barttorvik.com/poy.php?conlimit=CAA&year=2024&yr=

Interesting.  I just don’t understand Williams that high in POTY.
