Probably won’t make any difference in JMU’s on-field performance, unless they make a really bad hire. Remember, JMU was successful under Houston’s predecessor, until that guy went to Texas State. JMU is a desirable job, because it’s obviously now a lily pad for coaches who want to move on to the FBS, albeit the lower rent district of FBS (Texas State & Charlotte ain’t exactly Alabama & LSU).

It's not a matter of waiting for a better job. FCS coaches are not getting P5 jobs. So you have to climb the ladder and start out low and move up when you take Charlotte to a bowl game or win Conference USA. He can probably wait and get a better offer but most of the jobs might be filled. With the early signing date of Dec. 19, schools need to get coaches in ASAP.

Maybe Everett Withers (the coach at JMU before Houston) will go back to JMU now that Texas State fired him last week

That ain’t happening considering the way he left them.

We have a better chance of Rob being fired than this happening.  Man I bet JMUs board is going nuts, considering they already think they are a "Group of 5 Program"
