TSU88 Posted November 28, 2018 Report Posted November 28, 2018 Probably won’t make any difference in JMU’s on-field performance, unless they make a really bad hire. Remember, JMU was successful under Houston’s predecessor, until that guy went to Texas State. JMU is a desirable job, because it’s obviously now a lily pad for coaches who want to move on to the FBS, albeit the lower rent district of FBS (Texas State & Charlotte ain’t exactly Alabama & LSU). TigerNation Posted November 29, 2018 Report Posted November 29, 2018 If I was him I’d wait it out. Charlotte might be a better pay day but I don’t think it’s an upgrade except for it being a FBS school. Quote
mat1992 Posted November 29, 2018 Author Report Posted November 29, 2018 It's not a matter of waiting for a better job. FCS coaches are not getting P5 jobs. So you have to climb the ladder and start out low and move up when you take Charlotte to a bowl game or win Conference USA. He can probably wait and get a better offer but most of the jobs might be filled. With the early signing date of Dec. 19, schools need to get coaches in ASAP. Quote
TSU88 Posted November 29, 2018 Report Posted November 29, 2018 Maybe Everett Withers (the coach at JMU before Houston) will go back to JMU now that Texas State fired him last week Quote

Man I bet JMUs board is going nuts, considering they already think they are a "Group of 5 Program" Quote
