Great Bounceback vs W&M

Recommended Posts

Amazing what happens when the shots go in and guys step it up an extra notch on the defensive end.  For the first 10 minutes, it looked like more of the same -- W&M couldn't miss from 3 and their big guy was torturing us.  Then Starr and Zane and Morsell go crazy from outside and guys at the other end are keeping the Tribe off the scoreboard.  Great bounceback win here, especially putting 99 on the board.  The guys looked like they had a lot more pep on the bench when the runs were occurring.  Perhaps there's a bit more spirit within the team.  Could be a big turning point if they can maintain the momentum.  Nice to get that 2nd road win of the season (bus trips across town still count).

Well, we were so bad defensively, we went zone in the first half and a little in the second until we finally started guarding Cohn and stopped fouling Knight. I knew we had a great chance when he picked up his third foul. Great game by everybody. Even Morman picked it up with his D and 5 for 5 from the field. Morsell was big with 15 points on 7-of-9 and Zane was Zane with 20 points on 7 of 13.

We shot 64.4 percent from the field and 13-of-22 from beyond the arc. That's almost unheard of for Towson but again, W&M doesn't defend.

They don’t. Traveling and sleeping away from home is a road game.

but a great bounce back. Who is that player number 23? He looks as though he coulda been useful Thursday

That's just as dumb as your hack a Hofstra player strategy. So let me guess this straight, a road game does not include a bus trip. Brilliant. Only plane trips. So if we take a bus trip to Georgetown and win on the road or Maryland, that doesn't count because we didn't sleep at a hotel.

Starr was a Starr on offense with 13 points and 2 assists with turnovers in 30 minutes. Cohn couldn't miss early on but I believe he scored just two points in the second half. Starr did it on both ends.

You watch this team today and you wonder he the hell are we 3-3 in the league? As Skerry said after the game, "I'll think about that Hofstra game on the bus trip back".

Hacking a 33% ft shooter to break momentum in single bonus, dumb? Sure ok. So is sitting your most dynamic player, a head case or not, all second half.  We hack gustys we win that game

Traveling 2 miles down the road isn’t a road game.  We stay at hotels on the road (real road) that we further away. Again sleeping in your own bed and not traveling the day before is huge.

And this was a huge win. Wm is a good team they have not played anyone good in the caa but they can flat out score.  A real road win against a good team after one of the worst losses in 5 years? They showed something today

Last year at elon c of c. Uncw wm Ne jmu 0-6. One “far” caa win, Hofstra

I agreed with you about Morsell. I disagree about the hacking strategy. I don't care if they are shooting 0%. You don't put a team in the double bonus when you foul too much. That's out of desperation and you don't do that sh-t in the first half. What you do is change defenses or press, and we did the latter. Lead vanishes and we take a 5-point lead at the half.
