They also need to do a better job of involving athletes into other student groups. Other than it being Temple, that game and szn had to have been where we saw the most students attending. That was when Benimon was an honorary member of a fraternity at the time. I was in a different fraternity but we had tons of mutual friends and Benimon and Four had friends outside of basketball which made students come and support. Get these players in front of student groups. Even just billboards or advertising their faces around campus. They need to increase their social recognition. I think building around players like Jason Gibson (future) and Victor (4 star USC transfer) is a good start

We just beat a team by 17 on the road, who had taken JMU to overtime, beat Villanova on the road, and we are nitpicking because we didn't win by more?? Really?? Half our starting secondary is injured, our best linebacker has been out since the first game, and our stud transfer D-lineman played like half a game before getting hurt. Oh, and our 1st team all-American running back/kick returner hasn't played since the first conference game of the year. There are two games left and this team is poised to make the playoffs. For once can the players get some credit for winning?? Who cares how many you win by. Especially on the road.

JMU crushed UNH today, 54-16, giving UNH 4 L’s. UNH plays 4 loss Albany next week, so the loser is coming out of that game with 5 L’s. Meanwhile, hopefully JMU will beat Richmond next week, which would give Richmond 6 L’s. If we win in Williamsburg (which is not a given) only Nova, JMU & possibly UNH would have fewer losses than us.

I had brought this up in a thread a year or so ago and I think it deserves repeating. I look at a school like Grand Canyon. It's located in the middle of Phoenix, which is a hotbed of major league sports not to mention having Arizona State right down the street, and numerous other nightlife opportunities. Last year, they averaged almost 7200 fans for a school that has 20,000 on campus. They've only been D-1 for 6-7 years and yet, they've immediately built it into numerous sellouts and that's with playing a WAC (not whack/wack/whatever) schedule. So I'd say that our people should be taking a field trip to Phoenix (it's nice this time of year) and pick the brains of the GCU people and find out how they can attract such a large amount of people to their games.
