Brian Fobbs scored 15 points to lead four players in double figures as Towson rolled over Tulane, 73-55 to open the Battle of the Boardwalk Tournament. The Tigers will advance to play in the championship game on Saturday when they face the winner of La Salle/Alabama A&M.

Towson led 32-30 at the half and outscored the Green Wave, 42-26 in the second half. They outrebounded Tulane, 46-22 and had 18 offensive rebounds. The Tigers also shot 45% from the floor and held the Green Wave to 38.3%.

Pat Skerry after the game on radio:

"A lot of guys, Dennis, Fobbs, Solomon, all rebounded. Today, we defended and rebounded. We have since the Bahamas. We're slowly getting there on offense. We had a balanced scoring effort. We have a chance to be a pretty good team. We're here to win a championship for our university."

"It wasn't our guys fault in the Bahamas. It was my fault. This was the best win we've had on the season. It's about getting ready for the league. It's important to play your best ball in February and March."

"I think T.J.'s stat line is pretty good. His presence was way better. Took care of the ball against pressure. Did a very good job tonight. "

After starting the game down 7-0, outscored Tulane by 25 thereafter. Pretty good when a guy gets 8 boards (Tunstall) & is only the 3rd leading rebounder for the game.

Howard play well. Got into the lane and fished off and hit open shots. Fobbs didn’t dominate offensively and we still won with room to spare. Even with two bad early foulds by sanders they won comfortabley

It was an impressive win. I wasn't thrilled with playing stall ball with around 10:00 left and a big lead but you do that against Tulane. Howard did a nice job of controlling the tempo but we got a lead because we rebounded, defended decently and pushed the ball up the court in transition. I like the improvement of Solomon. I think Betrand has a ways to go but he's going to be a really good defender.

LaSalle isn't as bad as its 1-10 record indicates. They hung with Nova  and Temple, lost close games to to Lafayette and Drexel. I hope we keep our focus and our momentum.

2 stats that jumped out to me from last night.

14 for 19 from the line.

20 second chance points on shooting 45% from the field.

Tempering expectations as always but just really nice to see.

As always thanks for all the insights...  I’m taking my boys to Stanford game today..  visiting San Francisco.

Feels like yesterday those goofy Lopez twins were walking around the city lost.

Go Tigers...   beat them Explorers...  Lionel Simmons less!!!

Then pound those tables...   I was 91’-95’...  who didn’t pick a weekday night and just drive to AC from Towson and play all night..
