Chris Datres Posted May 15, 2024 Report Posted May 15, 2024 Here's something encouraging...Someone named Matthew Winick, who is the college basketball editor for The Score ranked all D1 to D1 transfers and here's what he had to say about our newest addition: Abdou Samb Towson IUPUI D IUPUI's worst player last year, per EM. IUPUI! One of the 20 worst players in the country. Non-threat offensively. Only scores at the rim, turns it over a ton. OK shot blocker but should be much better in that area. No idea what Towson is doing. 1 Quote

Chris Datres Posted May 15, 2024 Report Posted May 15, 2024 Given that IUPUI won 6 games last season, getting triple that will make him feel like he should cut down the nets. Quote

mat1992 Posted May 20, 2024 Author Report Posted May 20, 2024 On a boring off-season day, let's take a look at some Caleb Embeya highlights http://www.hudl.com/v/2P9Hr8 Quote
Chris Datres Posted May 22, 2024 Report Posted May 22, 2024 Here's something mystifying. Where was this production when he was here? It's like we were the desert around his oasis of success before and after playing here. https://twitter.com/NBL1/status/1792822971196965066 2 Quote

I’m no expert, but this guy was a marginal D1 player, regardless of what he’s doing now. The real problem here lies with whoever on our staff vetted this guy, and Skerry then stamping his seal of approval on signing him Quote

Wonder how he is going to spend his $200 Foot Locker voucher. 1 Quote

mat1992 Posted May 23, 2024 Author Report Posted May 23, 2024 Sekou Sylla was about 6-4, 230. Undersized. Didn't have much of a perimeter game. Couldn't really defend perimeter players. Not a great athlete. He looked good in that Miami-Fla. ex. game and had pretty good length. But his size and game really didn't translate to D1. I thought Sulaiman was a tad better though he had his problems adjusting to the size and speed as well. The numbers are pretty similar, but when you're D2 POY, the expectations are higher. Sylla 2022-23: 6.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 50% FG, 71% FT, 3-6 3pt, 13 assists, 31 TOs, 5 steals (15+mpg) Sulaiman 2023-24: 5.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 47% FG, 33% 3pt, 83.6% FT, 17 assists, 25 TOs, 27 steals (18.5mpg) 1 Quote
