Skerry has always had “try hard “ guys, which has gotten us over a decade of early exits from postseason play, and a trophy case full of participation trophies

You are 100% correct. “They played hard”…….big deal! You don’t get a medal for doing what you’re supposed to do…..and in the case of college athletics, getting paid to do.

Try hard guys are needed on every team but when you have a limited number of scholarships, that should be 2-3 at most not an entire team

but “skerry grAduTez da plaYers and winS dA gameS what else can ya Wantt?!”

Another embarrassing moment for tiger basketball on national tv. Just when I thought things were going somewhat decent before the collapse. Sickening how CT ended the game. Suspension warranted

Alright, not in the mood and maybe because I'm under the weather, and I have no emotions for this game, kind of like Tejada. But here goes the Good, Bad, and Ugly

Good

*Not a lot about Charles Thompson was 2022 CT with 17 points and 14 rebounds

*May's first half.

*SulaiJones had 17 points and five rebounds. They weren't bad and also did a half-decent job on Trazerian White, who was 3 of 14 but 10-of-11 from the line (of course).

That's about it.

Bad

*May's second half when he just couldn't make an open shot

*5 for 20 from 3pt. Tarke was 0-for-6. But not all his fault.

Ugly

*19 turnovers. 10 in the first half. They did nothing special other than press up on the ballhandlers. Everyone turned it over. It wasn't just one player..

*Tarke's shooting (0-for-10). I don't mind the drives, but at some point, he needs to stop shooting 3s unless he's wide open and there 2 seconds on the shotclock. He's not finishing drives either.

*Seven assists. That's brutal. What happened to moving the ball around? WTF would we play like that against NC A&T and  not UNCW? I know UNCW is a much better team but you can still make the extra poss.

But but but their guy dunked it and hung on the rim.  (Both bush league plays) but only one gets you suspended

Look, this isn’t rocket science, or even brain surgery. We need better skilled players on offense. I’m sounding like a broken record, but what has controlling the boards got us? A high number of offensive rebounds is really an indictment of our woeful shooting. At least in the pre-NIL era there was hope Skerry could bring in quality transfers (like a Moto or Holden). Now, we can’t afford quality transfers, so Slerry is going to have to be creative in terms of who he brings in. Relying on Skerry to be creative doesn’t instill much confidence

Play May and Tejada at the same time.  You have to have more than one guy on the floor that teams are concerned about from 3.  We are a poor 3 point team no doubt but you have to try something different on offense to get decent outside shots or just give up the season.  You have the dominate inside game with Jones, Suliaman and Thompson but you can't just trade 2's for 3's against every good team.  The defense and rebounding and the inside game can win against the middle tier and the bottom but it is not enough against the top of the CAA.  Those teams eventually pull away.

Let’s face it, for the most part this team needs to be blown up. Keep DWill, May, Tejada and Lowery. Maybe Sulaiman, as a bench guy.  It’s basically start from near scratch next season

The unfortunate thing is that you could change half the team….tinker with the starting roster all you want, until the head coach is replaced, the end result will never change. He’s had far better teams in the past than this one and he didn’t do squat with them.
